FINAL BLOG POST - Milestone projects

Ok so if I'm being honest, for some of these I made on either the school computers, my laptop or once my friends laptop, so one thing I need to work on for the future is file organization, but for now, here are my Milestone Projects!

Voxel Model

The first project was this voxel model I made of the Boston Pizza Galaxy Fishbowl, which, 5 months later,  I STILL consider the weirdest night of my life. This one I made very quickly on a school computer so I don't have any other renders or screenshots unfortunately.

Castle

This project taught me so many lessons along the way, including the fact that I would have to restart and rethink my ideas in the midst of a great one.

COASTer

The way I'm just realizing some of my Coaster photos did NOT work in my blog post has taught me to look at my work before I publish or turn it in because what the heck.

 Coasts Reaction:

Hollow Form
One of the coolest things I got to work on oml

K that's all, Rock on Piper off

3D Print: Firestorm Cup

This was some of the most fun I've had on a project in a minute, so it started out with me and Felix talking about our favourite designs from our own arsenals, then one long night in a cafe I sketched out ideas not only combining our favourite options, but from almost every pairing.

After break when we got back we both said the "Firestorm Cup" was the thing we were both imagining with this project, so we went ahead with it

While sculpting, Felix made a more 2D version of his fire and I made a wider version of my original cup. While fusing them we ran into the issue that parts of the flame were not gonna be able to stick to the class, so asked for help and got to the Base, which makes the design look more professional IMO.

If I ever take a glass blowing class or something I would love to make it glass instead of just plastic

Week 6.5: HUZZAH

While I know this coaster isn't gonna win any big competitions, I'm still proud of how the final product came out. It doesn't represent a big elaborate idea or planning, but I can have it as a reminder as one of the people I've met along my journey of life and may never see again, as later this week my good friend Coast will be returning to Australia with her sister, debating if she will return next year or not.

This was a simpler project to ones I've made previously but it's still done, and I can forever have it on my coffee table and desk. lol.

Week 6: Uh oh

I am gonna be so honest I didn't get around to booking my laser cutting appointment until this morning and the soonest I can get er done is 2pm on Wednesday. I have my coasters ready but I need to change the size of the cut to match the amount of material I have.

Week 5: CHOOSE OR LOSE, the start of the stages of grief

Over the thanksgiving weekend I brainstormed how to take a near impossible coaster design and make it plausible (out of mostly 2D pieces). Now, my computer hates me and won't let me finish the 3D model. But the idea is that the pieces snap together to hold the cup.

This thing is refusing to let me add more images the the heck, so if this freak of a coaster fails, I have my backup plan of my COASTer. Enjoy

Week 4: Coaster Concepts!

I feel like the concepts I am most excited for are the Matcha Cup (5), the COASTer (7), and the Shoes (11)
With the Matcha cup I think it would always be a nice decoration that I can have, and the idea of stacking a cup on another cup is funny to me. With the Coaster, I am very excited for it because I would solely have one to give to my friend, Coast (I went to Edmonton for her birthday and came back the sickest I have been in my adult life).

Finally for the "Shoes", I am purely excited for it because one night I was sketching out my coaster concepts and my sister, Annaja, called me. We were talking for a bit before I asked "If you had a custom made coaster, what would it be like?" she thought for a bit and started describing a shoe coaster, like when you take out the garbage and put on your shoe like a slipper, but your slipping a beer or a mug into it instead of a foot.

Honorary mentions: Drumset (8) because I love playing drums, The pizzas (10) because it was my sisters other idea and you can store all the coasters in a pizza box!! And the hands (6), just because I think it would be a really cool decoration for a coffee table
